Connect an eligible location to a campaign

Help people find the right place to take part.

Someone looking for a nearby class or community venue needs the correct address, hours and contact details. We assess your location information and an eligible campaign, then separate listing interactions from actual visits and registrations.

Separate paid campaign scope

This page describes conditional Maps placements through an eligible paid campaign. An ordinary Search grant does not guarantee Maps ads. Any grant availability must be verified in the account; a location profile alone does not establish it.

The campaign, made visible

One illustrative nonprofit campaign. The example is not a promise of placement, eligibility or results.

Illustrative eligible location

A possible sponsored location listing with the center’s name and contact options.

The correct location and class page, with hours, accessibility information and registration.

The goal
Help nearby families find a community center with available classes.
The destination
The correct location and class page, with hours, accessibility information and registration.
The action to verify
Report call, website and directions interactions separately from confirmed registrations or visits.

Where and why

Choose the format for a defined job.

Where ads may appear

  • Possible sponsored placements within Google Maps through an eligible campaign.
  • Maps is an ad location, not a standalone campaign type. Google states that Maps-only serving is unavailable.

When it can fit

  • A real, eligible location that people can visit for the advertised program.
  • Accurate location details and approved location assets, which supply address and contact information to ads.
  • A team able to answer calls, explain access and confirm actual participation.

What needs to be ready

  • Verified ownership or authorized access to the organization’s eligible location information.
  • Accurate address, phone, opening hours and the location’s program page.
  • Active approved location assets and a campaign that supports the intended Maps format.
  • A paid budget and separate definitions for listing clicks, inquiries and visits.

What we evaluate

  • Available local-action and campaign reports.
  • Useful calls or program inquiries handled by the team.
  • Confirmed registrations or visits from operational records; directions clicks stay separate.

Plan with these limits in view.

  • Maps appearances and specific pin or listing formats are not guaranteed.
  • A directions request does not prove a person arrived.
  • A free Business Profile and a paid campaign have different roles; linking a profile does not buy an ad by itself.

Campaign availability and policy can change. Google’s current Ad Grants campaign guide explains Search, Performance Max and grant inventory limits.

Before you choose

Questions about google maps ads for nonprofits.

Can we buy a Maps-only campaign?

Google’s current guidance says ads cannot serve exclusively in Maps. We assess a supporting campaign and review where it actually serves.

What are location assets?

They are the business details an eligible campaign can use, such as address and contact information. Accurate approved location information is a prerequisite, not a placement guarantee.

Can our grant automatically pay for Maps placements?

No. The ordinary Search grant setup does not establish Maps entitlement. We verify any available grant configuration separately and plan paid location advertising with its own budget.

Answer a relevant search

Google Search Ads for Nonprofits

A parent searching for swim lessons needs a class they can understand and join. We plan Search ads around the program, the area you serve and a page that makes the next step clear.

Automation guided by a useful goal

Performance Max for Nonprofits

Performance Max combines approved text, images and video and automates delivery toward a selected action. We check what that action means, which pages can receive visitors and whether the reported results match your team’s records.

Introduce your work on visual channels

Demand Gen for Nonprofits

Demand Gen uses images and video across eligible Google channels where people browse. A useful campaign connects that introduction to a program, giving or participation page with a clear next step.

Nonprofit fundraising

Donation Marketing for Nonprofits

Someone searching for a local cause may be ready to help. A relevant Google ad can bring them to a donation page that explains your work, how gifts support it and how to give. The useful result is a completed gift, followed by the care your nonprofit gives each donor.

Nonprofit events

Event Marketing for Nonprofits

Your event needs people who understand what it is, when it happens and why they should take part. Google advertising can connect a relevant search with a page that answers those questions and leads to a completed registration or ticket purchase.

Nonprofit programs

Program Marketing for Nonprofits

A family looking for a class needs answers before it can register: who the program is for, where it runs, what it costs and whether places are available. Google advertising can connect that search with a specific program page and a clear next step.

Volunteer participation

Volunteer Recruitment for Nonprofits

People who want to help need to know what the work involves and whether they can do it. A relevant Google ad can lead to a volunteer page with real roles, schedules and requirements, then an application your team is prepared to review.

Your next step

Bring one goal. Choose the support that fits.

Tell us the program or cause, the people you want to reach, your grant status and what your team can follow through on. We’ll discuss the campaign fit, the work required and the right support.
