Google Ads for nonprofit missions

Choose the ads for the work you want to advance.

Help people find a program, support a cause or apply to take part. Compare what each advertising option does, what it needs and whether grant credit or a separate paid budget can support it.

Start with the response you need

One mission. Different jobs for your ads.

Search can answer an existing need. Image and video creative can introduce the work. Automation needs a reliable action to pursue. The right starting point depends on your audience, page, tracking and team capacity.

Nonprofit fundraising

Donation Marketing for Nonprofits

Someone searching for a local cause may be ready to help. A relevant Google ad can bring them to a donation page that explains your work, how gifts support it and how to give. The useful result is a completed gift, followed by the care your nonprofit gives each donor.

Nonprofit events

Event Marketing for Nonprofits

Your event needs people who understand what it is, when it happens and why they should take part. Google advertising can connect a relevant search with a page that answers those questions and leads to a completed registration or ticket purchase.

Nonprofit programs

Program Marketing for Nonprofits

A family looking for a class needs answers before it can register: who the program is for, where it runs, what it costs and whether places are available. Google advertising can connect that search with a specific program page and a clear next step.

Volunteer participation

Volunteer Recruitment for Nonprofits

People who want to help need to know what the work involves and whether they can do it. A relevant Google ad can lead to a volunteer page with real roles, schedules and requirements, then an application your team is prepared to review.

Understand the funding

Grant credit and cash budgets do different work.

Google Ad Grants provides eligible organizations with up to $10,000 a month in in-kind advertising credit. It is not cash or a guarantee of spending or results. Google’s current setup supports Search and eligible Performance Max configurations; grant Performance Max inventory can be restricted. Paid advertising budgets and management fees remain separate.

Do not assume the inventory available in a paid Performance Max campaign is available in a grant account. We review the account’s actual options before recommending a format.

Campaign availability and policy can change. Google’s current Ad Grants campaign guide explains Search, Performance Max and grant inventory limits.

Compare the options

These pages explain the available approaches. You do not need every format. Shopping, App and audience-based work require a particular fit and agreed scope.

Google Search Ads for Nonprofits

Conditional grant configuration or paid

A parent searching for swim lessons needs a class they can understand and join. We plan Search ads around the program, the area you serve and a page that makes the next step clear.

Search can use an approved Google Ad Grants account, subject to eligibility, mission relevance and program limits. The up-to-$10,000 monthly credit is advertising, not cash or guaranteed spend. Paid Search uses a separate paid account and budget.

Google Display Ads for Nonprofits

Display ads combine images and text while people browse. We start with a program people can recognize, a readable invitation and the page they will reach, then review where the ads appear and what follows.

This Display service uses a separate paid advertising budget. The grant’s restricted Performance Max option does not establish a right to standard Display inventory.

YouTube Ads for Nonprofits

Video can explain a program, the people behind it and how to take part. We plan the message, suitable ad layouts and the next step, then distinguish views from gifts, registrations or inquiries.

Dedicated YouTube advertising is planned with a separate paid budget. Restricted grant Performance Max access is not a promise that grant credit will buy YouTube placements.

Performance Max for Nonprofits

Conditional grant configuration or paid

Performance Max combines approved text, images and video and automates delivery toward a selected action. We check what that action means, which pages can receive visitors and whether the reported results match your team’s records.

Google’s current Ad Grants setup guide includes Performance Max, with restricted inventory. Confirm available grant configuration in the approved account. The standard paid channel list is not a grant entitlement; standard paid Performance Max needs its own budget.

Demand Gen for Nonprofits

Demand Gen uses images and video across eligible Google channels where people browse. A useful campaign connects that introduction to a program, giving or participation page with a clear next step.

Demand Gen is a separately paid campaign option. It is not part of the nonprofit’s $10,000 Ad Grants credit; grant Performance Max is a different, restricted configuration.

Google Maps Ads for Nonprofits

Someone looking for a nearby class or community venue needs the correct address, hours and contact details. We assess your location information and an eligible campaign, then separate listing interactions from actual visits and registrations.

This page describes conditional Maps placements through an eligible paid campaign. An ordinary Search grant does not guarantee Maps ads. Any grant availability must be verified in the account; a location profile alone does not establish it.

Google Shopping Ads for Nonprofits

A nonprofit with an eligible store may be able to advertise physical products using Shopping. We first assess the catalog, checkout and fulfillment responsibilities, then agree whether campaign and store work fits the scope.

Shopping uses a separate paid advertising budget and is not funded by the Ad Grants credit. Product-store and Merchant Center work require a separate fit and scope review.

Google App Ads for Nonprofits

App advertising can make sense when the app already has a useful role in your nonprofit’s work. We assess store availability, the intended in-app action and measurement needs before agreeing a paid campaign or technical scope.

App campaigns need a separate paid budget. App development, store changes and technical measurement are assessed and scoped separately from Google Ad Grant management.

Google Remarketing Ads for Nonprofits

Remarketing can reach eligible people who previously engaged with your website or app. Before proposing it, we review the cause, the page, consent and audience rules. A visitor list is not appropriate for every nonprofit or program.

This audience strategy is assessed for separately paid campaigns. Google Ad Grants does not provide a general remarketing entitlement. Restricted grant Performance Max access does not authorize every visitor-list or customer-data use.
